This is locally sourced pine beetle stained wood flooring.
The wood has beautiful coloring and is an Eco-friendly material as so many trees in Colorado are dying from pine beetle infestation. Using the wood for home projects is truly green building.
The wood is less expensive than hardwood flooring but because it is a softer wood it does dent and scratch. However, the denting and scratching eventually gives the floor an ‘antiqued’ look that many people strive for and which is often done on purpose.
