Redstone Ridge Construction designed and built this off-grid passive solar home in the foothills of Fort Collins, Colorado.
Being an octagon shape, this house not only gets the southern sun but also early morning southeast sun and afternoon southwest sun. The sun heats the home which has an insolated concrete basement floor as a heat sink. The sun also makes electricity through the solar panels on the roof.
